The College of Wooster Black and Gold weekend. Pastor Dries preaching. We will also welcome 2016 College of Wooster graduate, Katie Greenslade, who will share her experience as a Presbyterian Church (USA) Young Adult Volunteer in Denver, Colorado. We invite all students and parents to join us for a reception following worship.

Katie Greenslade, a College of Wooster alum and frequent attendee of Westminster Presbyterian Church, participated in a Young Adult Volunteer service year in Denver, CO last year. She lived in community with three other YAVs, and worked four days a week as an outreach case manager at Urban Peak. Urban Peak is a day shelter for youth 15-24 experiencing homelessness, providing basic needs services, life skills classes, case management, and street outreach. Mondays were set aside for community day, where everyone in the house took turns leading the group in learning more about spiritual formation, vocational discernment, social justice, and community. The Denver YAVs (affectionately known as the Wolff Pack, for the street they lived on) traveled to Standing Rock, ND, Agua Prieta, Mexico, and Taos, NM to learn about everything from water protection and immigration to sustainable agriculture. Katie also got involved with the Mile High Freedom Band, a musical group made up of LGBTQ folks and their allies, and People’s Presbyterian Church. Katie recently accepted a position with The Red Zone as a Quality Mental Health Specialist. She will be a case manager with 5th-8th graders in Columbus schools.
Katie is excited to visit Westminster, share her experiences from the YAV program, and reconnect with her Wooster church community.
