The funeral service for Betty Hibbs, who passed away September 2, 2015 at LifeCare Hospice will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive, Wooster, with the Rev. Andries Coetzee officiating.  Her obituary appeared in the Daily Record of September 4, 2015.

MARJORIE 'BETTY' HIBBS, 96, WOOSTER

WOOSTER -- Marjorie E. "Betty" Hibbs, 96, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at LifeCare Hospice, Wooster.

She was born Aug. 15, 1919, in Salem to Edwin G. and Stella T. (Thompson) Hibbs and had been a Wooster resident most of her life.

She had been a secretary and switchboard operator for the former Freedlander's Department Store in Wooster for 46 years, before retiring Sept. 3, 1983.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wooster, and enjoyed working in her flower beds and gardening, helping and caring for those in need for many years, and her many friends over the years. She enjoyed meeting monthly with a group at Greenleaf Restaurant.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hibbs of Ashland; 10 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; 21 great-great-nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dr. John Hibbs, Dr. Thom Hibbs and Herbert Hibbs; and nephews, David and Samuel Hibbs.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive, Wooster, with the Rev. Andries Coetzee officiating.

Interment will be in Wooster Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening, (Thursday) from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.custerglenn.com.
