Making A Difference in Wooster, OH

During this time of uncertainty, many of our missions have been paused for the safety of our congregation and community. Information will be updated as activities resume.

Westminster is a giving community of believers and seekers. In addition to the time and energy spent on various social justices causes, members and volunteers are committed to compassionate acts of service that benefit the local community:

-Monthly food donations to our local People to People Ministries, which serves hungry and poor individuals in the Wooster-area community.

-Weekly participation in delivering meals through the Meals on Wheels program (click HERE to learn more or join us on Fridays for deliveries!)

-Collecting food labels in exchange for monetary donations used for initiatives such as Coats for Kids.

-Coordinating the Bed and Breakfast program which donates proceeds to local agencies such as the Viola Startzman Free Clinic, Wayne County Hospice, Every Woman’s House, Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity.

-Preparing and selling home-baked pies and Westminster’s Famous Hearty Italian soup with proceeds going to meet local needs through Aspire and helping those struggling to secure employment.

-Monthly volunteering at Central American Medical Outreach (CAMO) at the Orrville warehouse sorting medical supplies to send to under-resourced medical clinics in Central America.

-In partnership with Church World Service (CWS), Westminster purchases blankets for their disaster and famine response initiatives, as well as assembling school supplies and hygiene kits for under-served children affected by disasters and poverty.
