Today in worship we invite you to celebrate Scouting at Westminster. As a church that strives to be "Intentionally Inclusive," Westminster has been privileged to have sponsored Boy Scouts of America Troop 61 since 1913. We are blessed to support the Boy Scouts, a Cub Scout Troop (Pack 61), two Girl Scout Troops (Troops 1695 and 2173), and 2 college student sponsored groups (Daisy Troop 4101 and Brownie Troop 4102).  These groups combine to serve approximately 75 boys and girls from 1st Grade through age 18. On any weeknight, you are likely to hear our building full of young voices having a good time and learning important skills to make them confident members of our society.

At Westminster, we strongly believe that Scouting prepares our young people to express themselves in a complex pluralistic society.  In our commitment to furthering our community and world, Scouting at Westminster has become an integral part of our ministry to youth with its emphasis on character development, leadership skills, physical fitness, and cultivating a sense of awe for nature. Additionally, Session has approved the start of a Venturing Crew.  Venturing is a leadership program for both boys and girls from age 14 - 21.   More about that as our vision comes to life. Thank you to all of the adults, who devote their time each week to help make scouting possible.

Worship at Westminster promises to be warm, welcoming, and accepting.  At Westminster we give voice to a progressive Christianity drawing from our Presbyterian heritage and strive to create a safe place for all people to explore their faith, regardless of ethnicity, creed, age, cultural background, or sexual identity. We seek to give authentic expression to our faith as it relates to our daily lives and contemporary culture.  Our worship is made relevant through sermons, prayers, music, readings (biblical, ancient and contemporary), guest speakers, and participation from the congregation.  In our desire to be welcoming and inclusive we have an all gender restroom that is handicap accessible on the same level as our worship space.
