Habitat Ecumenical Build Volunteer Day

Saturday, September 16, 2017 - 9:00am

Anyone who has ever built a house will tell you that predicting the speed of progress is a little tricky!  This has certainly proven true for our Habitat Ecumenical Build. Westminster is now scheduled to work on Saturday, September 16th, installing insulation and hanging drywall.  We realize that this is the College of Wooster's Black and Gold weekend, so many students might be busy with Homecoming and parents visiting.  We are hopeful that Westminster members, friends and maybe some students will still be available.

Volunteer forms are available at Westminster.  Participants must watch a safety video. You can reach the "video" using this URL with this code: W8NAEBTG.  Choose "Volunteering on a Habitat for Humanity Job Site" from the shorter menu of Recommended Courses on the right.  If a video with audio can be located, it will be shown in the church house lounge after worship on Sunday, Sept. 10th.

On Sept. 16th, we'll gather at 555 Nold Avenue at 9:00 a.m. Come for whatever length of time you are able. We will wrap up at 4:00 p.m. unless we finish earlier.  Bring your own lunch.  Participants should wear long sleeves.  There will be work gloves available, but you may want to bring your own. Installing insulation and hanging drywall do not require special skills, and instructions will be given.  We will not be taping the drywall, just nailing it up. Hope to see you on Sept. 16th!  Be sure to bring your completed volunteer forms with you!
